The Deck Mount Mk1 is here
Jul 06, 2026
The Deck Mount Mk1 is the first piece of RaceZen hardware to leave the workshop, and it exists for a simple reason: a phone is only useful on a boat if you can read it without thinking about it.
Built around the glance
The mount sits behind the mast, secured by the outhaul and cunningham. That puts the screen where your eye already goes during a start sequence — down and slightly forward — rather than somewhere you have to hunt for while the line is closing.
It holds the handset firmly in landscape so countdown, line distance and race status all sit in one view, with a clear path to the sky for reliable GPS.
Three cassettes and a shim
Every unit ships with three cassettes and a shim, so the mount fits the phone you actually sail with rather than a one-size-fits-all guess. Fit the cassette that matches your handset — don't pad a loose fit with improvised material.
We don't recommend a protective case as part of the mounting system. A case adds reflections that make the screen harder to read in bright light, and it changes how the phone sits in the mount.
No tether needed
The Deck Mount Mk1 retains the phone within the mount, so no separate tether is required when it is fitted and used as supplied. Other mounts use different retention methods — follow the instructions supplied with each.
After an impact, a capsize, or any movement of the mount, inspect the fasteners, clamp, backing and retainers before sailing again.
