About RaceZen

RaceZen makes race management software for dinghy and keelboat sailing. Two apps, built to work together, and the mounts that hold a phone on a boat.

What we make

The RaceZen app. It runs on the phone a sailor already owns. Live speed, heading, VMG and heel on the water. The start countdown pushed from the committee boat, spoken aloud, with nothing to press. Every race replayed afterwards with the fleet's tracks alongside your own.

RaceZen RMS. The race committee side. Regatta setup, courses, the start sequence, recalls, finishes and results — run from the committee boat, in the order a race day actually happens.

Class-approved mounts. Deck, mast and bulkhead fittings that put the phone where the sailor can read it and where it has a clear view of the sky.

Why we built it

Most starts are a guess. Every boat works out where the line is for itself, every receiver carries its own drifting error, and three boats end up with three different ideas of where the line sits. A boat that was never over gets called.

RaceZen surveys the line once and sends the same one to the whole fleet. Every OCS, recall, finish order and finish time is made under the authority of the race committee, which can confirm, override or correct anything the system produces.
